There's little better than the feeling of waking up and knowing that you don't have to go to work for two weeks. Actually, now that I think about it, there's probably a hell of a lot of things better - but I don't think that should take anything away from the sense of freedom that I'm experiencing right now.

Sadly, my grand-plan of giving my two weeks notice at my old job and having them tell me my services weren't required (and having to pay me for those two weeks anyway) didn't quite pan out. Despite the fact that I've never seen anyone work out notice at this place (because of the "sensitivity" of the information available to us), the MD said he would be more than happy to have me stay on for another two weeks. Luckily, by the end of the day I managed wrangle way into being able to finish up right away (albet, without an extra two weeks pay for doing nothing).

I imagine that the next two weeks will be spent in repeating cycle of dvd's, yum cha and the sydney film festival - with some time thrown in for Sonic Youth's show here next week.

Is it obvious that I haven't had a holiday in a while?

Don't get too bored with all your time off. Heh. I always take days off, and then I get bored. I don't know how to relax or function unless I'm working or in school...
