What the fuck is wrong with me?
I'm actually interested in the football games today. I hate football. Why the hell am I into this?
Here's the deal... When I was a kid, the Seahawks were my favorite team. There was no particular reason for that, only that I think I just liked their helmets the best. But let's face it -- they've always sucked. There were a few years in my childhood when they would make it into the playoffs almost every year, often as the wildcard, and always loose in the first round. So I liked a loosing team.
Fast forward to 2006: I don't pay any attention to football. None. But I was out a dinner with some friends, who are all from PA, last night, and I overheard them mention that the Seahawks are in the final round of playoffs!
What??? The Seahawks??? And what the fuck, next thing I know, I feel like I'm eight years old again, rooting for the Seahawks! I really want them to go to the Super Bowl!
To make matters even more fun, my lady is from PA. With the exception of Penn State, who she loves, she pays as much attention to football as I do: none. But, she's from PA. So now I really want the Seahawks and Steelers to go to the Supe Bowl, just 'cause I think it would be fun. We can pretend for a day that we actually care about football and be rivals!
So go Seahawks and Steelers!
