I'll go first:
I like Van Halen with Sammy Hagar so much better than with David Lee Roth. I know it's heresy to say that, but I'm sorry: they wrote better songs. They took themselves more seriously as musicians and songwriters. That's not to say that I don't love the DLR stuff. It's fun as hell. But damn.... 5150, OU812, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge.... Love 'em.

Update: Saw Dino Jr. last night, and they were awesome. I never saw them back in the day, so I was very happy to see them, and even more happy that they were incredible. J Mascis is still amazing.
Also ran into the wonderful Odette and ymonster at dinner last night. There were some others with them that I recognized from here, but couldn't remember names... (OK, just looked 'em up: I believe the faces I recognized were the lovely Bunny, Shayne, and Albertine. I tell ya, the place was swarming with SGs! They were everywhere! Like sexy locusts, devouring everything in sight! ...Well, ok, that might be a slight exaggeration... OK OK, so they, like me, were just sitting there, waiting too long for a goddamn table. But they looked a lot better doing it than I did.)

Thank you, Ill try my best. Everything and everyone is more than a bit confused at the moment, too many people involved and too many needs, I guess we all just have to give it time and patience and maybe everything will find its balance eventually. Tonight Ill settle for simply coping with my life, not even trying to understand any of it.
