Before I started photographing boudoir and art nudes I was an editor. I did quite a bit of editing for a few photographers while loving in LA.

I ran full edits on spec for a few (not to be named) studios. Which was great, but left me with an interesting weakness.

I lack the deciding factor on my own style. Which I really feel has...

That's nice! And how long does it take to go through the whole process?
elegantorchid:
@rubymoon  It just depends. Honestly, my mental health really changes things. If I’m in a good place… a day or two. A bad place… 2 weeks to a month.

I learned about SG in college. I was dating an alt girl… tattoos, piercings, colored hair… the whole nine. Her ex wanted her to submit a set and she was down for it. Then stuff happened and she never did. At the time, I was just a musician… hadn’t figured out my love of photography.

Jump ahead to ten years later, I’m married to that...

Memorial Day, the most misunderstood American holiday. What’s the point?

Too many people confuse it with Veterans Day or they treat them as one in the same. I served 5 years in the United States Army National Guard. Enlisting in 2004, the year we officially went boots down in Iraq.

I have always struggled with people thanking me for my service. To me, that’s not

@elegantorchid that would be an awesome internacional holiday. After all, we're all humans, enemies or not
elegantorchid:
@rubymoon I don't see enemies or colors. I just see humans; beautiful souls and bodies!

So I've been shooting photography for about ten years now. And recently I picked up a side hustle of equine (horse) photography. I just had my first blind approach by a potential client for purchasing images from me. I'm floored! So wait... I can actually make a living as a photographer? I don't have to contemplate becoming a gigalo to feed my kids and pay...

So. I scoured the internet for difficult questions. Things guys, I guess, don't love answering?? I like questions But, I figured I'd give it a try anyway. Here are my answers:

  • When was the last time you cried?

I was playing (piano & singing) "Tears In Heaven" and thinking about how Eric wrote it about losing his son. I have two and I couldn't help...

As I'm discovering more about myself, I'm trying to catch an idea for what I want my life to look like. Long story short, about a year ago my marriage crumbled. Something I thought was rock solid... it turns out... never was. And it got me questioning a LOT of things.

When that rock slide began, my wife had asked me if I had ever...

So, I was listening to a podcast the other day and the creator of this Bonding survey was the guest. It piqued my interest so I took the short quiz. If you're curious... you should take it too!
Here are my results!
Your test results show that you would likely feel:
Challenged with a form of One-to-One bonding.
You are most likely to...

I wish I had a cool story about my origins as a photographer. Something about the beauty of a photograph that inspired me as a child, or a wondrous renaissance painting… but no. I actually happened into it by accident. Kind of.

I took photography in high school. I wasn’t good. You might even say I sucked. Though I didn’t spend

So here’s my question. The chicken or the egg? I need to start shooting more fine art nudes. AND I need to start charging more for my work. Ive tried doing the friends get TF but eventually EVERYONE becomes my friend and I end up feeling taken advantage of and struggling to feed my family.

So how do I stay creative while still making a...

I’ve STRUGGLED for so long with creating a consistent STYLE for me. I was educated in photography using black and white film, so I’ve always appreciated the textures and the contrasts of true black and white monochrome images.

But I’m also UBER drawn to vivid neons AND precious pastels (I think everyone looks better naked with pastels!).

So what do I do? Just keep going?
