Connecting with the world out there, here, with a full belly and a smile. I took a valium earlier and went to the grocery store. I cooked up some tomato cream vodka sauce and threw it over rigati. Some red wine and toasted thick garlic bread makes the body a happy vessel. I feel great!

I trust all of you had a somewhat pleasant evening on the 31st? I really didn't care at all what happened that evening. So much effort and energy went into the weeks before that I really didn't care about New Year's Eve. I actually was the designated driver for the night. It seemed that no one really had any definite plans or events to attend this year(in my circle, at least). So really it's just another night. Most places are open on the 1st anyhow so it's really not a holiday anymore. We must make money, money, money, money, money, money, money...

I am listening to Slowdive as of right now. What an incredible band. I wish so bad that I had the talent and channel to create music as beautiful and dreamy as this band. I do collect music and I make art but I cannot create my own music. It's quite discouraging sometimes. But, it is a great thing to have the ears to appreciate great music and let it move you to the core of your being. You know what i'm talking about. You hear that song with such moving lyrics (whether positive or melencoly or angry) and you wish you had written the song. So it becomes a piece of the soundtrack to your life. That soundtrack that has hundreds of songs for every situation, every reaction, every encounter, every relationship. Music...

I have to thank and honor what ever force or factors have given us the gift of self awareness and the gift of thought. The ability and the drive to become creative. To express oneself in a way that can be shared by others. Whether becoming part of the expeience or allowing the admiration of others. It's a part of life that is all too often looked over and ignored or suppressed. Keep on keepin' on people.

Suggestion: for every selfless gesture or favor you do for someone, do something selfish. Something for yourself. Something that makes you feel good. It doesn't mean you gotta fuck over someone, but I think you get the idea.

Take care all of you.

Valium & Slowdive is like Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes...Right as the fuckin' rain! One day, with enough practice, I want to combine My Bloody Valentine's guitar blankets with the deep dark funk of There's A Riot Goin' On. I can see those two sounds gelling perfectly. Do you?
