We had our entire public transport system shut down today due to a terrorist threat.

This grievous pain in the arse turned out to be a hoax, and left me stranded in the city for an hour and a half.

However, the whole affair has got me wearing my tinfoil hat.
I think what occurred today was actually a huge drill for the emergency services, conducted in secret.

The threat involved 4 explosive devices that were
allegedly planted in and around the public transport system.

So it's very strange that the media, the Mayor and the Premier (Governor, for US readers), were allowed to tour the "bomb sites" while the evacuation order was in place.

Also, areas of commerce such as Queen Street Mall, (which is directly above an underground bus complex), weren't evacuated. Nor the areas around Central Station.

So I'm thinking that the "threat" was concocted by Local and State governments, as an excuse to conduct a giant fire drill.
