Happy New Year is in order

I spent New Years in Chicago, though that is not what I had planned when I left Houston.

I left Houston to see the U of Houston Cougars play in the Liberty Bowl - and after getting really hammered during the game, was despondent at their loss and called my buddy in Chicago and told him I was coming there. I hopped on a train leaving that night at 10:40pm from Memphis, and woke up around 3 am, when I sent that buddy a text message saying "I am sober now"

But it was an awesome time, I love Chicago. He, along with his wife and new baby (and their dog) welcomed me and my impromptu visit. It was a perfect anti-new year, as we were playing computer games when it struck midnight. Honestly, its usually a let down, so this was a very nice surprise. the wife and baby were asleep before 10pm.

I couldnt have thought of a better new years.
