Hmm... what to do today? Pick up CD's from my friend's storage unit. Pack them, get them ready to mail (for when I have cash). Then what? Pool? Maybe. *shrug* carpe diem.

The highlight of my day was eating a sandwich from Safeway's deli. It had mustard, lettuce, tomatos, this wonderful olive spread and some sort of guac stuff (mostly avocado) YUMMY!!

I'm a little on the crazy side today.

Tomorrow is the boy's birthday. 4 years old. How odd.
gillette:
i thought about your dad this weekend. so young to leave, and how hard that must have been for you. how lovely that the joy of your son's birthday comes soon enough to help negate the sorrow your father's birthday brings.

four years old. when mandy was 4, we bought her this huge yellow tonka dump truck, it was almost as big as she was.

i was pregnant with elly that summer, it was one of the most beautiful summers i can remember, we would go walking and eat the plums and peaches right from the trees, and it is so funny now, but they were two of the three foods i preferred when i was pregnant with elly - the third was roast beef sandwiches. every time i relate that story now, i wonder if that is how she became a vegan - a surfeit of beef in utero...

what did you do to celebrate the day?
1aura1:
Yeah!

As un-patriotic as it is, children don't give a fuck about Ronald Reagan's funeral. They just want to watch kids shows. Thank God Canada doesn't seem to give a fuck either. Either that, or they just know taking PBS kids shows off can make certain kids a little on the crazy side. My son doesn't have to watch tv, but we have sort of a...

Today should prove to be.... odd.

Brett's watching the babies while I go to the dentist today. He went earlier today for a consultation on what work he needs done. We can't afford it. First off, our dental insurance doesn't cover much, second, our old dentist (you may remember me bitching about the cunt rag) used up as much as he could. Jackass. So, most...

Making vegan fudge from THIS website. Only change I made was almond extract instead of orange. I made another batch of badass potato salad as the one I made is already gone! Yes, its that good wink

June 11th is coming up soon. Which was my dad's birthday. I have a little shelf in my dining area dedicated to him. I'll be lighting candles that day....

my dad's birthday was june 22nd. i am planting a memory garden for him under the trees in my backyard.

four year olds are delightful - they begin posturing around like they are big kids, and my favorite part when le was four is a cassette tape i made of her being a bully to the little girl next door. they were playing barbie and le wanted a river, but heather didn't understand the concept of turning a blue dress ribbon into a river on the floor, so le finally said - "look, it's a river, and i am not gonna tell you one more time!"

lol!
samling:
wow. rad, you got to saw it. so are you totally vegan now? does it feel good? i'm too much on the other scale, low carb and all. many slaughters have contributed to my existance, and i am grateful for them, although i would probably feel better if i just went totally veggie. love that's from my daughter. when she sees me on here, she wants me to add it into whatever i write, lol.

love love love love love but those are from me. heehee

I'm telling you. This Vegetarian thing is getting easier all the time. I can't tell you how important it is to have good cook books. I *just* made the perfect potato salad from one of my new cook books and it is AWESOME! Seriously. I thought I'd miss the eggs in it or that the fake mayo would be gross (I made the mayo too)...

Time for bed. Maybe do some reading from my garage sale purchases. I got these two old skool aprons from it. One has a koala bear on it and the other one has eskimos. They look like they're from the 70s or some shit. It was actually held by a friend of mine. I got a whole lot of weird shit. My friend and her...

I'm so impressed with myself. Not only am I baking bread (recipe from How it all Vegan) but I'm more or less all cleaned up from doing it. That is a rarity for me! Anyhow. If its this easy to bake bread (meaning, if it turns out well) I should do it always. Simple process, like 20 minutes of my life, to get a...
