So somehow, I got convinced to go to this Lions Gate wrap party. I'm my friend's Charlote's date because her boyfriend has to work, but, she promised me I would meet this 'great girl' - who was smart and beautiful and sexy.
Her name is Cleo and she really is....
Then things went rather badly much later that night when we were walking back to her place. The conversation kinda went like this....
'So Char tells me you're doing your MFA in film production.'
'No I had to stop'
'Oh, did you get a job?'
'No.'
'Oh.... Still looking?'
'No, I'm on disability.'
'But weren't you working for that movie?'
'Yeah, I got fired.'
'Really?'
'Yeah, they caught me selling my meds on the set.'
'Oh'
To spare the rest of the gory details it turns out that she had been in and out of mental institutions 3 times. I found that there is no way to politely tell a beautiful young woman that, while though she seems really nice, and very sexy, having a fling with the mentally ill just isn't my thing.
Then Charlotte tears a strip off me for being a judgemental prude.
We had to agree to disagree on that one.
I still think that's tantamount to taking advantage of someone...

oh my...i'm on your side with this one. Hey, thanks for suggesting Poppy Brite. I was on amazon.com and there's books on there you can read before you buy, and i was reading a couple pages of Drawing Blood and i really like his writing style. so, i'm gonna try and get some of him. And hey, don't beat yourself up about that girl, you'll find the right one soon enough.
