heimat!
it was a long day at work; but a good one, too. i met a nice girl from memphis. she was glad i was playing mirah; she had never listened to her before. she bought that and arcade fire. at work i have a wonderful view of the gulf from the record store balcony. the water was remarkably beautiful with sparse huge waves (huge for where i live, anyway). around 10 in the morning i could see a navy cruiser and what i believe was an aircraft carrier. whether it was or not, it was impressive and beautiful on the horizon.
a cd and vinyl order came into the store today. my copy of lismore's album and montag's new one came in. happiness took over, regardless of an upset stomach.
we also got a bunch of promo cds. usually they're all junk, and for the most part this batch was (we were doubled over laughing at the promo for the new string tribute to puddle of mudd!!! ). for the first time in months something good came in: rainstick orchestra. thyey're on ninja tune and they're great.
i'm gonna go see xiu xiu to celebrate my birthday next week! then radio 4 a few days later. and then next month i get to see kid koala and then the wrens the very next night! ooh ooh and the black keys in may!!!
once again, pictures instead of pompous music choices. no one necessarily cares anyway.
