All right stutter, pull up my soapbox because its time for 8 to rant
What the hell is up with school kids now days!!!!!!!! I aint talkin about the drug/sex/rocknroll I and Im sure many of you others did or do whatever. Im talking about floatin in with the almighty boom stick and plugging some new air holes in your fellow future under achievers! I mean. teenage angst has been around since Eve gave the middle finger to god, stole his car, and took Adam out to score some apple. Its the latest group of homicidal kiddies that have sprung up that has my noggin achin.
Well, being the true American I am, I feel the need to blame someone, right!? Before we look to place
the accusatory finger at a guilty party lets examine the facts Hmmm, all sinister pre-pubescent hit men seemed to share one thing in common. Social outcasts. Bullied. Hated, scorned, beaten up , frowned upon, etc. Okay, they felt helpless, un-empowered, ill equipped to deal with the reality that they needed to @#$! stand up for themselves (firearms not included). Wait, there was a key thought emotionally unequipped
How did this happen? I mean, a tried and true fact of life is that sometimes its gonna suck (and that it is life folks). Arent we all prepared at a young age to realize that violence, death, and general unpleasantness are things that we might occasionally encounter and have to deal with? Once you have learned these fundamental and basic lessons, you might also learn about the consequences that follow hurt, sorrow, revenge , so on and so forth. Then, when confronted with the infrequent and/or even continual cases of unpleasantness, you are then equipped to handle the onslaught of emotional turmoil that follow, then think about how youre actions could affect all those around you, and maybe come to a better, more responsible decision. (You know, so youre brain doesnt over load and you go Rambo meets Ed Gains at school)
What do you mean kids arent learning about these things??? You mean completely sheltering youre kids from all the objectionable facts of life isnt good? What did you think, if you led youre child to believe life is a big bright rainbow that they might not mentally melt down when confronted with some @#$! up sh@#t? Maybe some other kids at school bully, push, and generally (gasp) cause them pain? Ya, I realize you might want youre kid to stay innocent and you want to protect him/her from some of the more disagreeable realities of life, but its like sending a soldier to war with no weapons or equipment. They will be chewed up and spit out
Its not media violence, video games, or music that is causing these problems. Its a want to over coddle and protect our youngIn almost every other culture that has come before, children were forced to deal with certain fundamentals at a young age why are our children the only ones that have acted out so?
