oh man... The Dear Hunter puts on the best show, I swear to god. no one gets as passionate about their music or performs as hard as Casey Crescenzo. they played at Mac's bar, which is this tiny little hole-in-the-wall about a mile from my house, and they put just as much, if not more into it than when we saw them with Coheed in Buffalo, NY. that was a ridiculous night. it was probably one of the best shows I've seen thus far, especially since Nick Crescenzo, The Dear Hunter's drummer, got me and my three friends guestlisted! we caught him outside the back of the venue and he listened to our plight of having driven six hours only to find out the show is SOLD OUT (two most terrible words in the human language when used in succession). he promptly guestlisted every single one of us and we saved a collective $120 (not to mention what would be the price in wasted gas and straight up wasted time) and we saw my two favorite bands of all time for free!! man, they're all such super nice guys! i bought a shirt at that show and gave it to Casey to sign, and he looked at me, recognized me, and handed it to all the other guys in the band and got it signed by all six members! and that was at a huge show.

this show was even more amazing. they had such a long set, and every single song was perfect. and the greatest part was that they didn't even sound like the album... intentionally of course! i mean, if i wanted to hear their songs exactly like they were on the albums i could just listen to my ipod. but the Crescenzo's and friends are better than that... and they put their heart and soul into every single song to play it out exactly how they were feeling it. and besides the personality in the music, i got to seriously enjoy the personality of Nick Crescenzo. i saw him hanging out at the back of the bar and went up to him and hugged him and thanked him for getting us into the Buffalo show, and then we proceeded to talk about the luxury of the ability to have a comfortable 15 minute shower in their tour camper (it's a nice upgrade from their white rapist van, by the way). then we proceeded to exit the bar and smoke two bowls of blueberry northern lights and talk about The Receiving End of Sirens (Casey's original band) and fairweather fans who pretty much only come to the shows to hear Red Hands. he was telling me this story about how they had just finished playing a show and settled at the merch table, when this girl came running up to the table, bitching them out, saying that their show was horrible because they didn't play Red Hands or Smiling Swine. what a stupid bitch. i would have kicked that whore swiftly in the cunt if i were there.

anyway, after smoking with Nick, i got to fulfill my dream of being photographed in a Crescenzo sandwich! the good news... they got the whole band in there!! the bad news... the only camera i had was my iphone, which is such shitty quality. god damn it, my last camera broke in February and have had to deal with subpar photo quality ever since. anyone want to buy me a camera? pleeeeeease? bah, one can dream. anyway, here is the picture i've talked up so much.

my two friends from my house are on the left, and all the other boys are TDH boys! and then there's me, as the delicious meat of the Crescenzo sandwich (though the two meaty gentlemen on either side of me are even more delectable, in my opinion)

the stellar exciting mood that the show put me in soon became a chilled-out and nonetheless stellar painting mood when I came back to my house to see everyone painting the living room. i capped off my night by scribbling some cute little chickies over a window, and passing out in ecstasy of the previous events. here it is, if you were interested (my finger is in the way to block the glare of the light, not on accident)

EDIT: you can't see it due to the width of blogs, but there's a little chickie falling off the edge :3 it's really cute

i get too excited, talking about bands, and shows, and weed, and painting and such business. if i don't get up and leave right now i will be late for work for sure, so i'm out!
thanks for listening to my ramblings, y'alllllz!

peace, love, & piercings
