I want you lovely people to reccommend some music for me to listen to. Preferabbly in the rock/punk/pop/whatever genre portishead and the sneakerpimps fit into type ranges.

speaking of the 'pimps.... have you heard Chris Corner's solo project, I AM X? If you liked the "Bloodsport" album you'll like I AM X.

Or the new Archive album "Noise"... not as good as "You All Look The Same To Me" but still better than a lot of the crap out there.
