if you've ever had a dream
then listen to my tale
it is a short one sort of one
that you already know well
starting off i seek the normal things
wealth, happiness, love, and fame
then things take a turn
and i find myself dancing in the rain
another person enters
i cannot tell if they are girl or boy
but i do not care
for i now have a living toy
we play for hours on end
but soon the toy is broken
i cast it aside
and look for another token
to fill what i feel
is an empty place inside
when what i need to do
is throw the dice and let it ride
for life is a gamble
no one knows the outcome
but i still try to beat it
before i am overcome
will i win or lose
doesn't really matter
only that i had fun
and stay mad as a hatter
