i used to think that my heartbeat
was the only one i would ever hear
then i met you and i began to hear another
whenever you were near
i tried to ignore it at first
but it became more insistant with time
my heartbeat spoke to yours
asking it to join mine
to my amazement and joy
your heartbeat joined
and the happiness they know
is where fairy tales are coined
together they exist even though
we are apart
for know this my love without you
i am half a heart
