I feel like such a scatterbrain right now. I have dozens of things on my mind, and not enough time to give to each of them. Does this ever happen to you?

(In cheesy game show announcer's voice) It's time once again for random babble!

Here's your host: Eddie!

Tomorrow is Friday, oh what to do this weekend. Shall I dance? Shall I walk? Shall I sing instead of talk?

I find I've been listening to a ton of older music lately. I shuold get something new... but what?

Not having a hockey season sucks. It sucks now, but it will really suck in January when I just wanna curl up on the couch, unwind, relax and yell at the TV.

I'm going to this guy's bachelor party this weekend. There are no naked women involved (thankfully) and we're all going to play Lazer Tag... I know what you're thinking. Okay, maybe I don't know, but do you know what I'm thinking?

I have to put my new bookshelf together this weekend.

Speaking of which, what book shall I try to read this weekend? There are so many!

Should I get that haircut this weekend? It's gettin pretty long...

I have to pick the right moment to unveil my new Cure t-shirt to the world, perhaps it will be Saturday night.

With my boss on vacation for a few weeks, I've kinda been put in charge at work. So I wonder when I shall introduce my co-workers to serfdom and begin to tax them and then eventually use them to build an army to take over the rest of the block starting with the car wash next door! hahahahaha

I don't know where that last thought came from. I guess I've been watching too much History Channel... especially that Land of the Tzars 4-hour special. It was good.

I've had a sudden craving for pumpkin pie the last few days. I guess fall is closer than I think.

Now that I think about it, what should I be for Halloween?

The leaves are slowly beginning to change color. I love to watch them the next 2 months. You wait a few days and you can view the changes, however so slight... I know I'm a dork.

Dork? I have to buy that Star Wars DVD when it comes out!

I hope I get a chance to hang out with Andrew this weekend. Andrew is a good friend of mine who is a Physics major in graduate school. We get together once a week, or once every two weeks and talk life, philosophy, politics and more over coffee. We don't really agree on much initially so the conversation's always lively, and there is much to learn (what can you learn from people who think just like you do?). It's always a great time talking with him, and I always feel that recharged and ready to take on the world sensation after these conversations.

This is ridiculous...

There's plenty more going on in here, but I must depart... for my thirst must be quenched

Oh, where does the time go, we have to call it a game.

We'll see you next time for random babble!

ladymaze:
So I always have a song, a smell, a taste, a laugh, a color, a look, basically an everything that reminds me of people I know or even knew.

Have you ever heard of a condition called "synesthesia?" It's when a person's senses are...mixed up in each other. Like, a smell might trigger a sound or color, or a sound might trigger a taste or something....for these people, all their senses are tied up in each other like that. (I hope that description makes sense...) Well, I've heard a theory that all people are synesthetic to some degree, and that perhaps at one point in our evolution, we were all strongly synesthetic but "grew out of it." And that heritage is why you might describe the taste of cheddar cheese as "sharp," which is of course a tactile sensation rather than a taste. Or how grass smells green, etc. I also think this has a lot to do with the way we all tend to associate sensory input with memories. There are some perfumes which I haven't worn since high school but to this day, if I smell one of them, I get this overwhelming nostalgia. It's intriguing.
