interestingly enough, the post civil war legislation that prevented a newly "freed" slave from being divested of personal property- was the same legislation that allowed corporations to begin to exist as entities, and not simply chartered community invested businesses... which just goes to show that politics and business should never mix.

even the best of intentions can be carved into a cultural catastrophe, when it is given over to the whittling words of a corporate attorney.
