Having just finished another girly ass movie, and wondering why it won't happen to me, let alone all the girls I know who are looking for the perfect romance, I've come to a surprising realization. These movies are the same fairy tales of old, just with a new spin. I know this is not a new concept, I know I'm not the first to realize this. ....

What hit me today, is that they even end the same way in many cases. With a "The End" in lovely typeface with a little bit of scroll work. They are admitting that it's a fairy tale, and just like most of the others, they are unreal. I think we identify with them more since they are so tangible, we watch the facial features of love, we have the vivid imagery, without the loquaciousness of print. No waiting for our brains to imagine. Just a "lowest common denominator" of love.

That's it, still lonely as always, but I did get told I was pretty today. I think I am going to have to let a certain gentleman know that I a not really interested in him, but he is having a tough week and I am worried that it's just unfair to put that on him as well. I mean the guy calls to tell me that he misses me. Which is awesome, I just wish I was as into him as he seems to be to me.

Movies are this generation's tall tale. They are a new way of spinning old stories. And there are not a lot of people who seem to realize it. You are one oft the few who seems to have figured it out. They have become our new standard for romances and morality. But still need to be take with a grain of salt.

Please be careful with my half of the species. There are a few of us nice folks out there, last of a dying breed. But we are out there. So keep your eyes and heart open, and you never know just what you will find.
