The Columbia is a terrible tragedy and I'm am very saddened and shocked by it.
That being said, all this discussion in the media about should we continue with the space program completely blows my mind. It is in our nature as humans to explore and seek out answers to the unknown. If early explorers like Magellan, Columbus, and Byrd had not continued after hearing of the tragedys in exploration of their time where would we be today?

And to all the speculation of possible terrorism....
