So much amassed wealth it makes me sick. Materialism was never the answer to a bad mood, twisted intestines from stress. Why do people think it is? The more shit I accumulate, the worse my temper grows. Yes, I love CDs and DVDs, video games and art supplies. But, you know. They really don't cure misery.

This place is full of poison. I miss taking walks in cities full of dirt and anger and innovation and life, I miss having woods nearby that aren't bordered by roads and rich people's neighborhoods. I miss serious contemplation. I miss change and progress.

I miss really discussing things that are important to me. Because lately, nothing really feels important. That frightens me. I don't want my conversations to always revolve around pop culture, because pop culture is modern vomit. I mean, I love Home Star Runner and Weebls and all that jazz, but I don't want my relationships with other people to rely on conversations about Strong Bad. Because half the time that's what people are talking about, that or what happened in this Anime or that film, or how stupid she looks or he walks. puke

This kind of living is so unhealthy.

The best hope is that one of these days the ground will get disgusted enough just to walk away - leaving people with nothing more to stand on than what they have so bloody well stood for up to now.

Material things are good for distracting yourself...which is only healthy if its distracting you from things you cant fix or remove. A DVD might not cure the world of "modern vomit" or whatever it is that happens to ail it at the moment...but it will keep you from having to think about it for about 2 hours...unless you're watching Gangs of New York...that movie is seriously fucking long.
