there was something about getting that tattoo last week - some subtle shift in my perspective - some state of transcendance i happened upon whilst staring up at that nail in the ceiling and whiteknucklegripping the frame of that padded table... i have a few ideas as to exactly what may have shifted inside of me - none of which i'll bore any of you with - but what i'm trying to say is that i feel....good. calm. strangely centered in the midst of what would ordinarily be percieved by me as a state of personal turmoil.

is it because of the tattoo? not entirely, no - but i think that it helped me to get somewhere that i've been trying to go to for a long, long time now. some final rite of passage... perhaps it's that i had to choose pain in order to get past it.

from indulgence to abstinence: fasting comes in many forms, it seems - each with their own cleansing effect.

on a lighter note, i scored a Roland Space Echo RE-201 last week, in the best shape i've ever seen one, for a better price than i would have ever imagined. whooo-hooo!

i'm also two cats richer for the month - carrie's cats had nowhere else to go until october 1st, so i welcomed them into my world. if only Suki could find it in herself to be so accomodating...
