Re: Balance. Balance is nearly impossible for me. I throw myself into things 100% and neglect everything else. To an extent I strive for balance, but it's largely a futile effort. I try to add balance to my life by having friends with different views and perspectives, and balance myself vicariously. Limited success with that - I can only connect at the deepest levels with people who think like I do. So I end up sacrificing intimacy for balance. Balance: easier said than done.
