Yeah, it has gotten busy, and days are starting to slip by so quickly. Starting to make me wonder if I'll get everything done this month. I think I'm going to start making lists to keep everything organized so I can keep track of it all.

The house smells of apples and lemon peel. I started a batch of apple butter (recipe from my 1950's Joy of Cooking and free apples).

Next kitchen project is roasting the poblano peppers from my garden (not very many I'm afraid).

Dinner was salad and antelope steak (tomatoes from my garden and antelope that I shot and butchered).

Life Is good (mostly).

I put on armor and did SCA fighter practice for the first time in 15 years. Beating up your friends is a great stress reliever. I am pleased that at 50 years old I am not totally slow and out of shape.

Pack trip tomorrow

Just an overnight trip up the Boulder Creek drainage off the South Fork of the Shoshone River. My friend John has horses and mules and loves to get into the backcountry. I'll be back Sunday evening.

I spent the weekend at an SCA event, Uprising in the kingdom of Artemesia. (I'll post pictures if I ever figure out how) My friend Brian (Brian O'Barnum in the society) was made a Knight and a member of the Order of the Laurel on the same day. Scadians will know how unusual and amazing this is.

It's snowing. It's 35 degrees F on June 6 and it's snowing. If it gets any colder I'll have to cover the garden and hope for the best.

Oh well.

I've got to go feed my friend's horses now. I should turn on the heat in my shop, too.
