not much going on - started an awful temp office job for a big german company. Apparently German's don't like to give you morning or afternoon breaks, which is awful. The free coffee sort of makes up for it, but only just. I've made it my mission to drain their vending machine in the next day or so.

Klara I dont want to sound like a party pooper but you seriously need to read this The immigration process is complex and on reading about your situation you have very little chance of working here legally ....your only chance is a H1B which your employer needs to file (cost $5k) It would allow you to start work Oct 2008 but its already full for 2008
If you overstay after Jan 8th you will find yourself turned away next time you come in and probably be barred future entry. If you leave and then re-enter the US very quickly (within 2 months) you will get pullled by UCIS at port of entry and probably tunred back, you can't work without a social security number, you cant get an social secuirty number without a valid work related visa. Sorry but its a total nightmare and unless you get sponsored by a UK based US employer (L1a visa ...you need have worked for them at least 1 year in a senior postion ..thats what I did) or marry an American is almost impossible .....PM me if you want more info
