I wish I were lying on a
mountain top tonight
watching a full moon so big
it fills half the sky and the
stars seem so close I
could scoop them up
with a butterfly net.
I want to be on a sailboat
starring at an endless
sea as the noon day
sun sparkles like diamonds
on the waves.
I would like to be
in the French Quarter
dancing late into the night
to slow jazz with
a woman so enticing
her touch makes me
forget my name.
I wish I were anywhere
but here in this stupid
room at this stupid old desk
watching my stupid fingers
pound dull, senseless words
onto this stupid fucking
