Sometimes I wonder why I bother *sigh*

Her: what do you think?
M: i dunno, that's why i asked
H: well what is usually up when you im? especially for like the 7th time today?
M: odds are that it would have been something different then
H: ok well nothing
M: and i only messaged you one other time today
H: it seems like you argue just to be a pain
M: i'm not trying to argue
H: and im just saying
M: anyways, how's the car?
H: nice
M: if you had a choice to get either 10 pounds of hershey chocolate or a $50 restaurant gift card as a prize, which would you choose?
H: 50 restaurant
H: youve got nothing to say do yo
M: not off the top of my head, no
H: so why Im me?
M: why not?
H: cause i have nothing to say either
H: so whats the point really
M: that's a pretty pessimistic point of view isn't it?
H: why would we have a non existant IM chat about nothing wen neither hof us have anything to say?
M: i'd rather have someone message me and have hardly anything to say than them hardly even message me at all
H: well i wouldnt
H: the point of IM is to have a conversation.. if people are going to just say nothing or try to make small talk then it is just as pointless as if it occurred in real life
M: i think it shows that they're making an effort to talk to you, instead of just letting time pass by
H: well whateve
H: it is dumb and annoying and stupid and whatever else to me

H: why are you sorry.. i was just saying
M: well, you said it was stupid and annoying, so i was apologizing for doing it

Now I won't message her as often and I'll hear "Oh, you don't talk to me anymore, are you mad at me or something?"
