I fucking HATE April Fools Day. It isn't a real holiday so I wake up each year and go online and then it hits me what day it is and I get really annoyed because I can't go to any of my favorite websites because they all have to do their April Fools Day page saying that they were sold to some company or that they're turning into a Gay porn site or whatever. Plus all the fake news stories that also pop up. It's just a big nuisance.
Like right now I still don't know whether or not to believe that Mitch Hedberg actually died or not. There are several sources saying it's true but Mitch is/was the type of guy who would pull some huge scam like that. If he really did die it's another tragic loss, especially at only 37.
I went to the Unsung Zeros farewell show last night and almost started crying. The last song they did was "Postcards Home" and for those of you who aren't familiar with them or this song there's a part near the end where the singer does the chorus really softly and usually it's a big audience participation portion. Well this time they got to this part and he had the audience sing the words by ourselves.
"Do you, know what, the world can bring. I wish you were here, with me to see. The things, that words, can not describe. Sincerely me, so long, goodbye"
And while we were singing it, each member put down their instrument and the drummer came out from behind his kit and when we said "goodbye" they all said "Goodbye Orlando" and walked off the stage. It was such a perfect way for them to say goodbye for 7 years of sold out shows without ever really being that huge of a band.
The curtain closed and everyone refused to leave and were chanting "One more song" and "Please don't go" (which I started) so they came out to do one last last song.
What sucked was the security were assholes last night and wouldn't let anyone mosh at all. During that last last song, UZ's guitar tech dove from the stage into the crowd and crowd surfed for a while. When I was leaving, my friend and I saw him walking from the back area and being escorted by 2 cops. I still don't know if he was being arrested or not. So lame.
I really wish my blinds weren't broken. I have like 20 Mexican guys on the roof of the house next to me working and they can see right into my room. I miss my privacy
