I wasn't going to update anytime soon because I didn't have anything to say. But I'm up late browsing the site and figured I might as well say something.
I ended up going to a party on new year's eve even though it might as well have just been any other weekend. The only difference was the less than 3 minutes they took to watch the ball drop inbetween watching the same movies they watch every single fucking weekend.
Everyone decided to lose their mind as well, not even in the good drunk kind of way. More like the annoying sort of way. First off, one of the kids who actually lives in the house asked the people watching Haggard to change over to the ball dropping and no one even acknowledged that he existed. I thought that was so fucked up.
Then I took my friend to get some food at Circle K, we were gone like 4 minutes and all the shit hit the fan. His on-again off-again gf (more like the girl he has sex with every other weekend) likes to wrestle with one of our other friends. Apparently it got a little out of hand and they ended up bumping into and pissing off this other kid, so he left. Then when we got back she sat him in the corner so they could "talk" and all of a sudden he's saying that they're leaving. Even though he had been goin on and on about partying til 6 in the morning and even though I had just driven him to get food 10 minutes earlier. He obviously wasn't sober enough to drive yet but yeah anyways. So I was mad about that.
Then there was another girl who has a foot phobia. Someone put their foot on her and she was standing outside refusing to come back in and was going to leave cuz she didn't want to be "fucked with."
Then there was the guy screaming at this other girl he hates calling her a whore and telling her brother how she gave her teacher a handjob in my friend's pool. Which isn't a lie but yeah.
Somehow I still ended up staying there til 4am without having a drink the entire night. I stayed completely sober because I wanted to be alert enough to watch out for drunk drivers.
My mom woke me up the next morning and told me that my Uncle Nino had died 11:30 the night before.
I never mentioned anything about that on here. He had come down from New York to Sarasota to visit his in-laws, then he was going to come visit us since he enjoyed his stay back in the Spring. Well while he was down there he had a really bad heart attack and had been in the hospital down there since.
He had been going through quite a few relapses and was quite depressed being there since October. It was hard for us to see him since that's 3 hours from here and whenever my parents would go they said he would be sleeping and they'd leave after about 30 minutes. So on New Year's Eve we got a call from his daughter telling us that he wasn't doing well again and that he told the doctors that if he went out again that he did not want to be resuscitated because he had enough.
I never really was close with him nor did I really even know him until he came to visit us this past Spring. I ended up enjoying his company even though it was hard to talk to him since there was quite a generation gap and all. I remember he even sent me a card with a check in it as a Graduation present and I just couldn't believe it. I never remembered ever getting a card or a gift from him but I'm sure I must've when I was a baby. It just seemed so unneccessary of him to do that but I was genuinely grateful of his gesture.
Actually there was this time when he was responsible for getting me a gift. His daughter was always really close with my mom and thus she always was close with me and always wanted to get me presents when I was younger. I LOVED Fraggle Rock and she heard that FAO Schwarz was going to have the dolls that came out that were really hard to find because everyone wanted them. My uncle had a job back then delivering hot dogs to different hot dog stands downtown. She made him go to FAO Schwarz while he was on his route just to make sure that I got one of the Fraggle dolls. I'm pretty sure I still have it to this day, at least I hope I do.
I've been thinking about the whole situation over the last few days and wonder if he hadn't have come down here if he would still be alive. If it had happened in New York he would have had tons of family around and probably wouldn't have been depressed. It just really is interesting how things happen sometimes.
Anyways, there's your update. I ended up writing more than I expected to. Sorry for those who are gonna be bored by my huge post.

The Fraggle thing is funny. I was also a fraggle kid. I was in love with Mokey. Muppets and Fraggles pretty much ruled my childhood.
