no rant this time, have actual things to talk about.
I had a huge fight with someone a few days ago and it's still bothering me. If someone messages me on AIM or whatever and I haven't seen the s/n before and they just start talking to me like they know me, without saying "hey Louie, it's so and so" i start to get really weird about it. i've had people who for whatever reason have felt it necessary to try and ruin my life this way, so i'm always iffy about it. so i was doing my normal sorta defensive self when that happens and the person got really mad at me and said some things that have left me confused.
"i don't like you. i have been waiting for so long to tell you off."
how would any of you feel if one of your friends said that to you? it's just made me really wonder about everyone and everything. i'm not even sure if i want to mend fences with this person after this too. even though if any of you really know me, you know that it's almost impossible for me to stay mad at anyone. i just care too much i guess.
i have "friends" who are in this band and apparently they just finished working on their demo. a mutual friend told them about how i write songs and that i should get together with them. i told their bass player about how i could have produced their album and he told me that they were going into the studio on Tuesday (today) and that i should come by and meet their manager. he's the guy who owns the space and he apparently did some tracks for 2Pac a long time ago. he was telling me that i could potentially end up working for him. but i'm not going to go in with them tomorrow for several reasons.
1) i've never met this guy and neither has my friend.
2) i've only heard good things about him but that's from the guy who's in the band who he's giving this awesome opportunity to.
3) he works in the music industry so it's hard to trust him as a rule
and the big one 4) their album is finished! if they were still working on it and i went in there and showed what i can do/gave some input then it might make me look good. but right now it's done and this guy has been telling them "boys, it sounds great, i'm not even gonna have to do that much work on it cuz it really is fantastic." if i go in there at this point as some new kid and say that something doesn't sound as good as it could. it might make me look bad. or bringing me in as essentially another producer might look like they don't have faith in him and i don't want to cause any friction/
they have a show this friday, the dude will probably be there. i'll try to network then and when they go back to work on some new stuff, then i'll go with them so i'm there working on stuff from scratch instead of coming in like i'm jumping on the bandwagon. they also said they would appreciate help in writing new stuff, so that'll be another excuse to get me in there without much problems.
then again maybe i just think too much...oh well
