"And so this is Easter..and what have I done?"

Next to nothing.

Yesterday I went into Manchester,to my favourite fashion/household store-Muji-and bought a few nic-nacs,before wandering through the Northern Quarter to my brothers' shop,Piccadilly Records. I checked whether the Russian Cultural Centre on Stephenson Square had indeed bitten the dust,unfortunately it has.

Had a chat with Martin,who got me to buy the excellent Whitey album.For those who haven't heard it,imagine the Stooges meets Gary Glitter meets the Beach Boys and Tubeway Army-with sexy gruff vocals and some heavy electronics-and you have 'em.The album cover also features some of Magrittes' artwork too. The only slight fly in the ointment for me was that Whitey were meant to play Club Suicide and pulled out,thus leaving the promoter bandless-the only time that has ever happened.Still,the album is excellent.

At one stage a very cute girl started hovering round the magazines on the Counter,and my brother steamed straight over and hovered on the opposite side of the counter,hoping she wanted to be served.But she didn't.Watching the scene unfold was pretty funny.
