Bugger Malcolm Glazer

I went to see FC United(the Manchester United offshoot formed by Man Utd fans in protest at the takeover of the club by Malcolm Glazer)on Saturday. Their opponents on that day (the "home" side) were Cheadle Town. My mate Scott Caplan had asked me to go, because the game was played at Edgeley Park (Stockport County's ground).

FC United are currently top of the North West Counties second division, which is six divisions below the Football League and attract crowds of about 4,000-about 100 times the average for that League.

Being a Stockport person,I was discreetly supporting Cheadle Town. The football was entertaining-it was played at a hectic pace- and the FC United fans were great-they kept singing all the way through the game (which ended 3-3).

My favourite chant (which they sang at Nelson-cruelly suggesting that the inhabitants of that small Lancashire town are inbred) was(sung to the Adams Family theme)-

"Your father is your brother/ Your sister is your mother/ You all fuck one another/ The Nelson family"
