I don't know what kind of bike you mean, but that doesn't matter. My hubbie has been riding motorcycles for years, me included, and we've seen some terrible accidents. On the whole, one common theme seems to be the doctors tell us all how bad it is going to be, and 6 months later, we're all talking about how amazing it is to see a full recovery so fast!
I'm sending karma your way---and the best advice I can give is don't let him get down---he has to know that there's fight left, and you'll be right there.
