I always find it interesting where you meet new friends.

I'm not the type of person that has many "friends." I have a lot of acquaintances, and people that I know. I really don't call many people friends. Throughout my life, especially in high school, I had a lot of "friends" that turned out to be people I was just hanging out with. So, long story short, I don't call a lot of people my friends. If I call you a friend of mine, it means something.

I had jiu jitsu at 4:00 p.m. yesterday. I usually show up early just to practice a little, stretch out, that kinda thing. These two guys I hadn't seen around school before were there practicing. I think both of them were black belts in gracie jiu jitsu, part of the Pedro Sauer team. if you don't know who Pedro Sauer is, look him up. They actually had a lot of cool stories about him.

Anyway, they practiced, I watched. We started talking, and they invited me to practice with them. We practiced a little, they stayed for class, and stayed after class for another hour and a half. It ended up being a little more than three hours of jiu jitsu yesterday, which was awesome just for the exercise. But the thing that struck me most is, I don't like people who get an attitude doing martial arts. I don't like people who do anything (karate, boxing, whatever), and get some kind of ego, and think they have to beat everyone up. These guys were really calm and patient about things, and you could tell they were just good people.

The actual people in my class, there's some good people. I wouldn't call any of them my friends, though. But Chris and Dave, the two guys from Pedro Sauer's school, I'd call them friends. Anyway, wherever you are, watch for new friends. They don't come along often, but they will be there.

Have an awesome day, everybody.

I meet new people all the time, but have had the same friends for years. Most of them for over 10 years. I love friends, they're great. Too bad I haven't met any while on va-ca. Makes me kinda bored and sad.
