Site implosions: I don't care for the new thing.
I get the need for sites to be friendly for devices smaller than PCs, but generally what looks good on an iPhone- simplified structure, block texts, etc.- looks clumsy on an actual computer. The large images that make good thumbnails on a smartphone require a lot of unnecessary scrolling or pageloads on a desktop. It looks like shit in general, and certainly in the new beta site.
Nothing against handhelds, I use mine constantly. But if we're talking visual? Fuck no. I want my films streamed to the biggest screen I've got. When I'm working with digital images for art, I'm using my desktop monster, because I can see the goddamn thing I'm working on. If I'm looking at artistic pictures of naked ladies? Big screen. Not my phone.
Obviously, there are plenty of less-discerning people. Some folks don't get why you'd even go to a theater to watch a movie when it'll be on netflix in two months. I'm not making judgments here, but personally if I have the option for a better quality experience, I'll take it.
There are also some serious privacy issues at the moment, and while I'm not concerned about my own personal profile or blog (as I've never put anything here I wouldn't put elsewhere), that it doesn't seem to be a top priority is extremely concerning for the sake of others. If the privacy and safety of the members and models isn't given absolute importance, this is a large step toward making the community "just another porn site". Like a lot of members, I'm not paying a sub for porn, I'm paying a sub for people.
