Is it really that hard for people to be nice to each other? Maybe its just me, but I have always felt compassion towards others even when I was trying to be mean. But it boggles my mind how comfortable peolpe can be being cruel. Now I'm certain I was dropped on the wrong planet.

I have alot of friends who encourage me to be outright cruel to people who have hurt me or who I don't like, and they get angry and don't understand when I refuse. But it seems being hurtful to those people is pretty childish retaliation, and it would upset me more to know that they had been hurt.
