I now have a bad haircut, or at least one I didn't ask for and didn't desire. My "style" is quite simple, asa you can see... I thought saying "cut it to about half the ear, and just above the eyebrows" would be clear enough, along with using my hands to measure. This is the way I've always had it cut, and there's not much that can go wrong. Or so I thought.
The barber (A real barber at a barber shop, not a hair stylist at a salon) cut me down to about an inch or two in the back, a little longer in front... my ears are totally exposed, along with the shape of my head. It's not BAD per se, just not what I wanted and very different, enough that everyone I know reacts with some shock at the change. (The peril of being constant, I guess).
I had a bad feeling during the cut, as he was using clippers instead of scissors, and nothing else. "He's a professional" I thought, along with "I was clear enough."
I wasn't mad (and am not), just a bit disconcerted. I didn't tip though.
