We applied for John's VA home loan today. We are hoping to buy a house like now. We can't stand the apartment we're in anymore. Especially since we're paying so much in rent and have nothing to show for it. We could be saving at least $200 via a mortgage and that would be so much better for us financially. If the apartment management jacks up our rent when we renew our lease we won't be able to afford to live here anyway.
On the plus side, since the bank knows we have a short amount of time, they're are going to expedite our loan so we can get a house hopefully by the time our lease is up.
The only major suckage is that we'll be moving right after I have this baby. But it will be our LAST move ever. Unless John gets some awesome job in another state or something. I just hope everything goes through smoothly. I would like for things to go right for us for once.

I hope everything goes well for you. Make sure the management doesn't try to anything squirmy to jack the rent up.
