I have been playing Rift beta since yesterday evening. I'm already lvl 15. The quests are so linear that it doesn't even seem like a grind. Plus if you get bored of questing, you can lvl up closing rifts. And believe me when I say there are no shortage of rifts. At least not with this beta.

The beta itself was surprisingly polished. The only annoying error I ran into was my game would crash if I alt+tabbed. Other than that, I didn't have any lag. I wasn't fighting over mobs with other people. Respawn rate was perfect. Everything was pretty much smooth and flawless.

The gameplay reminds of Warhammer with some WoW mods thrown in. Quests and rifts are marked on your mini map so no guessing where to go. The class trees are AMAZING. You can have up to 3 different trees you can dump pts into (you are not locked out of the other sub trees til your main one is filled like you are in WoW). Also, you can have up to FOUR multi-specs. In WoW, you only get two.

My biggest complaint is that there is no healing interface. It is really annoying and tedious having to click on someone's portrait and then cast a spell. Doing it that way, you can lose valuable time trying to get a heal off and that person can die. I would love for an intergrated healing interface similar to Healbot, Clique/Grid, or even VuhDo. The interface can be activated upon being in a group or raid. It would just be easier to bind healing spells to the mouse. Unless there is a way to do that already and I missed it Tried doing it through the key binding and it didn't work

All in all, I got the pre-order. Can't wait to see how this game turns out upon launch!
