Went to my first anime convention this weekend! so i dont watch anime... in fact, you can say that I was anti-anime. the humungous eyes, the multiple pupils, the dubbed voices, the static movement, the "monsters"... i didnt get it. i just didnt get it.
my friends like anime. some of them live and breathe anime. ive tried watching before with them but id always fall asleep.
so when my friend asked if i wanted to come to MetroCon this year in Tampa I said "why the hell not?" i then said- 'fuck it. nows the time to understand anime.'
so i decided to watch Rin- Daughters of Mnemosyne (sp?). It is an anime that doesnt deal with school girls, the characters are more normal looking, not quite to cutesy-big-eyes, and it seems to be more adult themed. ok, no, it IS adult themed. there is some serious hentai going on. but i liked it. A lot!!! then i started watching Blood+... i got a few episodes in before the convention was here.
so the reason i was dying to go is the cosplay. i love looking at cosplay and wanted to dress up, so i watched the first episode of sailor moon and went to the thrift shop and made a school uniform for $16.
I had a great time, cant wait to go again, and this time with a super awesome cosplay idea!
