I'm finally giving my presentation at the research symposium on monday. It should be interesting. I've been working really hard all summer on this project and am excited to see it come to fruition.

The project is titled "On Environmental Ethic: Religious Perspectives" and the basic idea is that my partner and I tried to discern some sort of coherent envrionmental ethic within the religions of Christianity, Buddhism, and Islam. It has been a very enlightening process and I have learned a lot. So far the paper we've been writing is merely descriptive and not argumentative. This is because it would require much mroe research and time in order to structure a decent analysis of the environmental ethics found in these religions. As it stands now the descriptive paper will be at least 50 pages. I'm hoping to have the time and energy to apply for funding and continuing working on the grander project during the next school year. My last senior year. In the spring I will be finished with my BAs. I'm very excited by this and intimidated at the same time. Granted I won't be seeking out a job yet, because my next step is grad school, but grad school is tough to get into. Plus on top of that, I want to go out of the country for grad school, which makes it quite difficult to get funding. Right now, I'm just planning on being broke for a long time because this might be my one opportunity to live outside of the U.S. My advisor says that some foreign school's PhDs don't carry the same weight in the US and it can be hard to get a job. Maybe I won't want to come back though. We'll see. I've still got another year....

Thanks for reading...

You'll be happy to hear that I stopped drinking. Also that I'm going to go to school again soon.
