I Think I Get It Now

I’ve been a member for while now and I always wondered how the Set of the Day was selected.

The pressure and scrutiny that the SG staffers have to select just one from the various top liked sets as SOTD. I mean I am always so blown away by all the women who are brave enough and so grateful to them for sharing such personal photos. I would be a complete burden in the selection process because I would never be able to pick. I genuinely love them all and I am humbled by them. But I am beginning to see what separates some from the others more clearly I think.

Every time I look again at the set that is selected (trust me I have almost always “loved it” before it goes SOTD) I see characteristics that indicate their selection. I move thru the pictures of the set and unknowingly nod my head in agreement. Some are more clear than others in a sort of punch you in the stomach sort of way. I mean actual loss of breath, you find yourself loudly saying “Jesus!” or something similar. Those I can see destined for selection. However it’s these others that I can now see how they make the mark.

The more subtle ones. Where the photographer leads us down the path to see what both the model and the photographer already know. This is going to be a great one! Almost every one you can see it in the woman’s eyes. The confidence, the expression of some aspect as to who they are. Be it in the smile, the sideways glance, the look alluringly into the camera or my favorite - the sneer. You see it in the way the eyes are captured and then that is it. They have you. Set of the Day for sure.

So let me offer my sincerest appreciation first to the models who literally share themselves with us, the viewers. I am in awe of your confidence and your bravery. I highly doubt most of us would be able to do it. Secondly my appreciation to the photographers who capture the moments and then frame them, edit them and present their work. I am amazed at the sets and I marvel at all the hard work that goes into them. Lastly I must acknowledge the SG staffers who have the impossible assignment to select just one for Set of the Day!! I can only imagine the arguments, the gut wrenching selection process and I am sure the tears. Thank you for making your choice because there is no way in hell I could!!

Thank you all!!!
