Good Karma Week:
After a non-stop 26 hour Greyhound haul I finally made it out to Burlington, VT where I was rescued from the bitter Northeast winter by my NYC hosts Angelina and Dulce. Little did I know after posting a forum request for a floor to sleep on I'd be chilling in a comfy suite at the Inn at Essex outside Burlington. After being generously treated to a vegan soup at the culinary resort restuarant, we hit the show and danced to the amazing afrobeat grooves of NYCs' Antibalas. In the morning after missing the early bus to Boston, I was free to peruse the city and dig the college mountain-town in all its snowy glory. A trip to the Onion River Co-op provided me with enough food for the next two days before hiking over to the Hempest store where I picked up some much needed hemp kicks. After a failed attempt to score some grass with a local trailer dwelling kook, I hopped the bus to Boston and took the subway to Cambridge where for the second consecutive night I made it into the sold out show via the guest list (a favor granted by my wonderful host). Another (more cramped) night of dancing ensued and ended with me picking up (3) new (vinyl) records and a "War is a Crime" tee. As if my previous accomodations hadn't been swank enough, I was treated to a free couch in Bostons' Ritz-Carleton again via my host Angelina. Another marathon bus ride ensued the next day taking me back to CBUS where I was greeted by my Art Institute of Seattle acceptance letter. Talk about some good karma...
