Life throws some things at you that you may or may not be ready for.
I was content to know that I was a geek in high school and that I was "just one of the guys." I was ok with that. I ran into an old buddy on MySpace and we talked on the phone for an hour (which was longer than we had ever spoken in HS). He is great and living 3000 mi. away. We were confirming "rumors" from '93 that the reason (he thought) that I broke up with my High School boyfriend was because I was a lesbian and I was dating women. Hahahaha I didn't date women until 2 yrs after I broke up with him. They preempted my gayness
AND that I was a "hottie" in HS... This was a little hard to swallow. Apparently there were a lot of people who had crushes on me... hahaha Again, in the immortal words of Adam Sandler in the Wedding Singer "Things that could have been brought to my attention... YESTERDAY!!!" So after blushing a lot and saying no no no over again I conceded and I am becoming more comfortable with my "hottie" status.
Also found out the root of the very controversial balcony fight at the playhouse where my friend fought another classmate - over me. Found out that the one holding the boy being beaten was none other than my EX. He was holding him and PUMMELING him in the head. I missed this for some reason. I was carted off to the side for safety and that was that.
ANYWAY... so I learned a lot.
My boobs are magical and cause most boys to faint. Like Kryptonite.
I was prettier than I thought in HS.
My Ex came to my rescue Looooong before we dated (thanks CR).
Old friends are great to keep around. You never know what you are going to hear out of their mouths.
ALSO YESTERDAY...
I got to talk to my BFF from Elementary school (again LOVE MySpace and Thank you MF).
She is great and was also looking for me and its crazy the stuff I remember. The 1st concert in Long Island at the Coli and the bike rides and the boys and the dances and then the 20 yr break. We spent most of last night catching up and we are going to go to dinner on the 17th. I am so excited to see her I can't wait. I may pop.
