Starting a new band for me is like buying a new pair item of clothing or a new car. Something exciting that has so many possibilities. Today I had my first jam with my new band (we don't have a name yet). It has been so long since I've started something new and out of the amount of times that I have started bands, this is the first time I've gone away and thought to myself, 'Fuck! We've actually got a real shot at this!'
Music is a lot like sex for me. The longer I go without it, the crazier I go and the gratification I get is just as good. The jam had everything I wanted. It was noisy, heavy and something that I'd listen to if I had a recording of it. It was reminiscent of The Drones, Sonic Youth, Violent Soho, The Stooges and even a little bit Led Zepplin-esque. It was raw and noisy and everyone knew what was going on and it while none of us had any idea what was going on it flowed so well.
I am so fucking excited for the next jam! Hopefully I'll be able to sling some tunes on here sometime soon!
