Depending on what job he's gonna get and where he'll be stationed he could be gone quite often. The pay also isn't that great, especially starting out. Also, to be a good soldier very often he'll have to put his duty to country before his duty to wife and child. It should'nt happen that often, but it will happen. It will be your job to hold up during his deployments, spend and take care or your child wisely while he's gone, welcome him and integrate him back into your life when he comes home so that he's not a stranger to his own little girl. You know, that kinda stuff on top of little things that can be annoying. His job can and will be calling him 24/7. He'll have supervisors that may seem like the biggest dick heads you could concieve of and he can't just quit. I could go on, but if your relationship is strong and you can keep it that way, and if you can hold the house together without him and still welcome him home when he comes in then you will make it.
