My Girlfriend got a text message yesterday, from a friend who forwarded it to her.
The text was basically this long drawn out soap box sermon about how we should all boycott the premiere of "the Expendables". The reason being that our Governor is in the movie, and since our ecomony is in the toilet and a budget hasnt been passed yet, then we should not pay our money to see this movie. And the best line of the text was," His decisions have affected you, lets effect his paycheck for a change."
Now this argument sounds completely logical for anyone with an IQ lower than a house cat. But for everyone else, not completely retarded, they realize that by boycotting the movie, you are effecting the THOUSANDS of people who worked their ass off to produce this movie. Its not just Schwatzanegger, Stallone, Willis and the rest of the cast who made this movie. You are talking about the hundreds upon hundreds of people employed by the studio--- the film crews, production people, assistants, stunts, make up people, costume people etc etc.
What did all of those people do to deserve you fucking with their hard work? And if your arguement is,"Well they have all been paid already, so the boycott wont effect them", then youre still an idiot. When a movie bombs, the studio is less likely to go back to the exact same people for the next project. So if youre reasoning for boycotting this movie is because that we dont have a budget, please explain to me how putting all of these people out of work fixes our problem?
And do you honestly think Schwarzenegger gives two shits if you dont see the movie? Fuck No! Dolph Lungren, Terry Crews, and Eric Robberts are sweating their nuts off, however. Schwarzanegger has, what many people in Hollywood refer to as, "Fuck you money". Which basically means that he is set for life. If you dont believe it, I give you "People Exhibit A"
