Joan Jett is among the coolest humans walking the planet (and she's originally from outside Philadelphia, my former home town). Like many a man and woman, boy, girl, animal, vegetable and mineral, I had (still have) a mad crush on her. Like many others, I was at one time unaware that I Love Rock & Roll was actually a cover, but she has written some great songs and many of her other covers are fantastic (some faves include Tulane, Fun Fun Fun, Everyday People, I Wanna Be Your Dog and, of course, Crimson & Clover).

If you're gonna choose an idol, you picked the right one. When she signs you to her label you have to get me a meet and greet!!

Really sorry to hear that. As you said, just another reminder of how precious life is and how little time we have to enjoy it. I think your teacher would be very proud to know how much of an impact she had on you - that's all a teacher could ever hope for, amid the throngs of cretinous high schoolers that wander, hormone-fueled and vacant through the halls of secondary education.

Are you studying law merely as part of your PoliSci major or are you thinking of becoming a lawyer? As I recall practicing law in Canada is a lot different than the U.S.,not just because of the British system but also because there are a LOT of regulations.
