So when were you in Panama, what unit, circumstances, etc? I was in the Blackhawk co, of the 210th CAB in '86-'87. I was the aggressor aviation OIC, for an execise that we did up in David, for about three weeks. Lived with the Spec Forc guys, it was pretty nice, they baked bread every day!

I also TDY'd to Costa Rica, Colombia, and Bolivia while I was there. Go to the "What was you best Assignment" thread, in the military group, to find out about Colombia!

Panama was pretty good for me. I didn't learn much about being an officer, but I got to do some "sporting", and interesting flying! It's also where I started sailing... ah, but that's a whole 'nother story... ARRR!!!

- I was stationed in Panama in 86/87, an we practiced "high altitude operations" on the volcano in Chirqi in Aug or Sep. What is it 6k or 9k feet up there...wooooo, better be careful... tongue
- So then there was this minor little volcanic eruption in Colombia (Nevada del Ruiz), and we were doing the real thing, landing in volcanic dust, at 17,5K eeek !! Now you need to be careful... Got great gas milage though, 400 lbs/hr! I have a great, shaky picture of my altimeter reading 21 or 22k feet! Hooaah!!

You know those online match/friend compatibility tests? Dont have your partner take one if you are already with them. Imagine them doing it on a fun whim because 'all your friends are doing it'.... then them getting a real low score. Like, real low (about half) ... and other people getting much higher scores.

Bad news? yup

Of course, most of those I got high...

I joined a match making service once and they didn't find any matches for me for days...and then once they did, it was one guy in michigan or something of the sort. Very disappointing.
