well i quit my morning job... i only work 6 hours in the evenings now... i just couldn't hack 6am anymore... i'm a night person... everyone keeps telling me, i'll adjust to getting less sleep and getting up early... well it's been months now and i haven't adjusted yet.. so I''m just gonna accept the fact that i am a person who needs a little more sleep than some... and i'm also a night owl.. it doesn't matter if i get 12 hours of sleep, i just can't do 6am... Maybe i'm just weak.. i dont' know.. i just can't seem to adjust... i think it has a lot to do with my depression.. which i cant' tell my boss that is the reason i can't work mornings anymore.. cause i work in childcare and the state doesn't permit anyone with any type of mental illness to work with kids.. i had to have my doctor fill out a form saying i didn't have any kind of mental illness in order to get this job...
ugh.. i'm just so frustrated.. i wish there were some way i could just quit my job and go to school full time... but there are always bills to pay...i didn't have a very good day at work if you cant' tell...

Especially since you're both online probably every day. All you have to do is look up "how to rid fleas without harming pets" in any search engine...
Actually I would use Pyrethrum Powder personally.
I have known about this stuff for a couple of years.
All it is is ground Pyrethrum Flowers - and get this:
"Low Mammalian Toxicity: No other insecticide can claim such a long record of proven safety towards humans and warm blooded animals. It is one of the least toxic of domestic insecticides available and is rapidly metabolized if accidentally swallowed."
All you have to do is sprinkle it throughout your house, and dust your two cats with it. I would also sprinkle it a little bit near your air vents, windows, doors, and throughout your house.
You should look it up online.
It will probably be CHEAPER and involves NO POISON.
But it is YOUR money and if you want to pay some guy to come and spray poison in your house (you said he told you and the pets to leave for at least four hours), I guess I can't stop you.
And yes rotating shift work does suck...but I have been doing it now for about 10 years and it is just the way my life is...I'm at the point of acceptance.
