Today was not gray. Today was not so bad.
My best friend from high school came down to visit. She lives about an hour away, but with our schedules, it's so hard to find a time that we both can hang out.
We went out to lunch w/ my Rob. They got along quite nicely. She's been dating this guy Freddie for 4 years, and she once told me that he reminded her of a male version of me. And the more I watched her and Rob interact, I noticed that he kinda reminds me of a male version of her. I think that's a good sign.
She's a doll. I will always love her, and she will always be my best friend...but we're so different now. She works at Anne Taylor. Yeah, the pricey, snooty, worn only by sorostitutes, clothing store. But she also still teaches dance, which is cool.
It's just kinda weird. I told her I got my nipples pierced, and she looked at me like I was crazy. She knows I love pinup models and Bettie Page, but I don't think she realizes that I love Bettie for her boundary-breaking bondage photos. I don't know. We still hang out like nothings changed, it's just that our conversations stay pretty vanilla. I don't feel like I can totally be myself around her. But, like my parents, I am trying to slowly break her in. I don't know. Whatever. That's what I got you guys for right??
At least she got me a really cool Marilyn Monroe calendar.
